II. ELECTION INTEGRITY

Free and fair elections are paramount to our republic and its preservation. Election laws, procedures and systems must enshrine election integrity. Election integrity is marked by maintaining ballot chain of custody, ensuring every legal vote is counted only once, verifying voter identity, and eliminating any means of potential manipulation. To restore public confidence in our elections, we believe election fraud should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

  1. We recognize the constitution vests presidential election law with state legislatures. We reject any action to alter election law originating outside the state legislatures.
  2. We support a complete paper record for all ballots. We reject all digital and internet connected voting systems.
  3. College students should vote only in the precinct of their permanent residency.
  4. For those unable to vote on election day, we support an absentee ballot system where: A) Absentee ballot must be requested every election by the voter. B) Reason for absence is stated. C) Voter signature is required and verified.
  5. We support government issued photo ID as a requirement for voter registration and to vote for the purpose of proving identity, US citizenship, and Iowa residency.
  6. We are opposed to same day voter registration.
  7. We support the annual review and maintenance of accurate state voter rolls to ensure that only current living Iowa residents who have timely registered to vote in Iowa are eligible to vote in the next election.
