IV. EDUCATION

We support Iowa’s commitment to fiscally responsible and proven principles of instruction and teacher development in pre-K through continuing and post-graduate education, once again focusing on students. We support students attaining world-class competency in science, technology, engineering, useful arts, and mathematics (STEAM) and communications. We support the parents’ rights to be actively involved in their children’s education.

  1. We believe our schools should emphasize America’s common culture, history and Constitutional foundation, national pride, and American exceptionalism.
  2. We support freedom of speech and exchange of ideas in public funded higher education.
  3. We support all school children reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, including the words “under God” and the American flag be displayed in every public classroom.
  4. We support educating all students with the American English language.
  5. We support local control and oppose mandatory national Common Core or Iowa’s version called Iowa Core.
  6. We oppose the teaching of the tenants of critical race theory and the 1619 project in class curriculum as this material has been shown to be based on false history. We oppose the promotion of Marxist ideology.
  7. We advocate choice in education. Parents have the right to choose public, private, home school, or alternate education for their children without government interference. Tax money should follow the student to the school of their choice.
  8. We believe that schools should teach the Constitution of the United States and the Declaration of Independence. This is necessary for the development of the character that defines us as Americans and ensures the continuation of our Constitutional Republic.
  9. Require K-12 public schools to maintain full disclosure of instructional content on their official website.
  10. We support the removal of all sexually explicit and pornographic content from public schools and we support holding librarians liable for the distribution of such materials.
  11. We believe that gender is biologically determined. This should shape policy for all Iowa school sports and public bathrooms.
  12. We support the removal of alternate gender education for all public schools.
